Got this from a recent story in the Pasadena Citizen, Groups join forces to help children:
From now until Aug. 7, residents can support area school children through Operation School Supplies.
Pasadena Independent School District schools which will receive supplies include Gardens, Kruse, McMasters, Pomeroy, South Houston and Smith elementary schools.
In case you don’t know, Operation School Supplies helps get children in need the necessary school supplies for the new school year. How can you help?
Residents can help support this program at participating H-E-B stores by purchasing Coca-Cola products during the campaign. The Houston Coca-Cola Bottling Company will donate a portion of the proceeds to Operations School Supplies. Shoppers can also contribute cash by purchasing an OSS coupon at the H-E-B checkout. Residents can also donate school supplies at the Houston Zoo on July 30 or at the Houston Astros home game on Aug. 9. Or, residents can sponsor a school for $25 or an entire school district for $100.
For info on how to get school supplies from Operation School Supplies, for yourself or someone else, call the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast Help Line at 211 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
