Food in Houston
One of my new favorite blogs, Food in Houston, has a great post about Houston food classics you can still get in the city:
- James Coney Island Chili Cheese Dog
- Antone’s Po Boys
- Triple A Cafeteria’s rolls
- Barbecue Inn’s stuffed crab
- Ragin Cajun’s oyster po boy, boiled crawfish
Houston is gaining jobs
According to the Houston Business Journal, the “Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area had the second-largest employment increase in the United States in the year to July, adding 57,100 jobs.” It seems we were beat by Dallas. So, overall, Texas is doing well in job gains as well.
Congrats to reader
Congratulations to Carol Medgen, of La Porte, for winning the Harris County Public Library’s iReader Summer Reading Program for adults. (Found on the Houston Chronicle.)
