Eager shoppers help open the new Penney’s
— reported by The Pasadena Citizen
Hundreds of people turned out early Friday morning for the Grand Opening celebration at the new JC Penney’s store in the Fairmont Center on Fairmont Parkway.
People in line expressed their eagerness to get, and their excitement at the opportunity to obtain a $10 coupon and goodie bags that were given out to the first 500 in line.
Many were in line hours before the store officially opened at 9 a.m.
The new store is a one-story building that is over 99,000 square feet and will implement a new concept because it is a free standing store. It will offer men, women and kids’ apparel, shoes, home items, jewelry, a full-service salon, portrait studio, custom decorating studio and catalog services.
JC Penney’s is continuing to grow and will open 150 new stores in the next three years.
The 150 employees will look forward to serving the community of Pasadena on Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
