In a special meeting of the Pasadena Independent School District board of trustees on Monday night, board members began to discuss the hiring protocol for the individual who could be chosen to fill Schneider’s vacant position in January.
Schneider has spent nearly 20 of his 38 years in public education in the Pasadena system.
His career in Pasadena began in 1986, when he served as deputy superintendent for instruction and associate superintendent for personnel. He was named superintendent in January of 1993.
Upon his retirement, the school district expects for an easy transition and hopes for the process to go as seamlessly as possible, but exact dates and procedures have yet to be determined.
