Pasadena has fix for false alarms
— reported by KHOU CBS Channel 111
Pasadena police are having a tough time protecting and serving thanks to false alarms. They say false alarms are keeping them from doing that to the best of their ability.
In fact police say they respond to 6,000 false alarm calls a year, so the city toughened the rules for alarms.
The new city ordinance allows for three free false alarms per location.
After that there are fines of $75 for the sixth and seventh times. Starting next year, police can stop responding to locations which have more than seven false alarms.
