Commenting Issues
I'm faced with the dilemma of limiting commenting access on the new blogs currently running on Blogger. Comment spamming has increased, dramatically, to the point where I have to go in and delete the comments and then close commenting on that particular post.
The thing I find particularly interesting is that the blogs don't get a lot of traffic. They're only a few months old. They aren't generating high search engine placements and only have a comment posted every once in a while. I'm not even certain that I'm reaching the people I want to reach.
But the spammers must think so.
I hate the idea of penalizing everyone else because of the actions of a few. I don't like the concept of making rules for the one percent... but I also dislike having to go in and delete 60 or 70 spammed comments on a really short blog entry.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do, but will have to do something soon if this continues.
