Officials at the Shell plant in Deer Park on Monday reported a leak at one of their tanks at approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Shell emergency personnel reported the release of a gasoline component from a storage tank at Shell’s Deer Park chemical plant.

An olefins release at the Shell plant in Deer Park has caused a shelter-in-place order to be issued, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Officials said the shelter-in-place order has been issued for areas north of San Augustine Street between Center Street and Georgia Avenue. State Highway 225 has been closed to traffic between Battleground Road and Beltway 8.
