What will Pasadena do now?
Scott Street residents try to understand buyout, Strawberry Road delay
— reported by the Houston Chronicle
PASADENA Mayor John Manlove’s decision to indefinitely postpone the Strawberry Road extension has evoked as many questions as answers.
What, for example, will the city do with the houses and land it has bought on Scott Street, between Harris and Jackson. The city’s total expense to date for land acquisition, maintenance, relocation of residents and other costs is about $2.97 million.
David Benson, the mayor’s executive assistant, said the city would probably clear the land it owns for a green belt along Little Vince Bayou.
