Volunteer Pasadena gearing up for annual Monster Mash event

As Oct. 31 draws nearer, children begin to anticipate trick-or-treating and selecting the perfect costume for their Halloween endeavors.
The Monster Mash, an annual event hosted in Pasadena, aims to prove that the fun of the yearly autumnal event can go hand in hand with safety.
The event will take place in the PAL gym, located at 2910 East Southmore, as it has in years past, and event coordinator Trina Rodriguez explained that Mash-goers will see some of the old faithful games they know and love as well as the addition of several new games that planners hoped would be as well liked as some of the ones in years’ past.
Volunteers will be needed from noon until 5 p.m., and the event will run from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. “The volunteers are just incredible,” said Rodriguez. “There is absolutely no way we could do this without them.”
Those that sign up to be helping hands for the event will be busy signing people in, judging the costume contest, making sure that candy supplies remain stocked, and assisting kids that may need some extra help with the games.
